"This time around we are treated to a genuine Mexican formation and after seeing the cover picture of their first EP I would already call them: Fangtastic! Bilis Sicario hails from the Californian region of La Paz; a place at the very end of the road. Which turns out to not be a bad place at all. Just a place where they stopped making roads. But for a place without any streets they do have a fierce driving rhythm, which sometimes shifts gear to make you float and dream like you’re at some great sky party. Weaving in all kinds of subtle shimmering changes and intricate little structures Encuentro de Sutilezas comes across as lost high desert diamond. A shining gem full of all these kaleidoscopic mutations and otherworldly visions. Something to keep you warm during the winter…" stonerhive.blogspot.com
"I don't know much about this great band but they are a superb Psych Rock Band dealing in all things Desert Rock/Stoner Rock based vibes.
Well the band's debut album - Encuentro de Sutilezas - is 4 tracks and 25 mins of out there Psychedelic Stoner Rock vibes mixed in Fuzz and Desert Rock for great effect. It's purely instrumental but the band instantly draw you into their crazy world of out there riffs. Especially the 10 minute epic - Tormenta en Cautiverio and my fave track - Encuentro de Sutilezas. If you want something different to listen to in the Desert Rock/Stoner Rock scene then this great album is it..." thesludgelord.blogspot.com
"With a very special Latin flavor, this 4 songs EP "Encuentro de Sutilezas" is a trippy journey of about 25 minutes that is highly recommended to fans of ORQUESTA DEL DESIERTO, BRANT BJORK and the Bros (think about "Saved By Magic" and "Somera sol") or YAWNING MAN... At times, just like those great ambassadors of Desert Rock do it so nicely, BILIS SICARIO prove that this style of music doesn't only mean burning rockin' stuff but also trippy refinement and sensibility." templeofperdition.blogspot.com
"Bilis Sicario is from La Paz, México and they play pyschedelic/desert stoner rock. At times it gets pretty ambient and totally beautiful, and at others very textbook stoner rock. At first I'd hesitate to call it experimental, given their adherence to typical blues/stoner song development and chord progressions, but the final song in the album definitely stands out as something more avant-garde. Those interested in the genre should give this a listen, I personally enjoy it as something to listen to while reading or doing schoolwork." unitedamericas.blogspot.com
